Nothing says “validation” like coalescing with fellow nerds in a confined space filled with the sweet savour of body odour and poor facial grooming. Of course I jest, only 90% of gamers fit into this character stereotype.
Gaming conventions are an odd affair, I have often wanted to attend Games Day, however, with it being held on a Sunday I find myself unable to attend. I have attended Salute once (would do so again) but what really gets the juices going is a local shop for local people… Therefore I thought it appropriate that I start to “big up” the UK Games Expo which is held in the much more local city of Birmingham. Much less of a jaunt than the dockside of our capital.
This expo has everything, it is held between 4th and 6th June this year at the Clarendon Suites in Edgbaston, Birmingham, all details are on the site link above. Not only does this event cater for the tournament attending crowd with GW and Privateer Press represented the event has representatives from RPGs, CCGs, boardgames as well as miniature games. There is a wide selection of things to sink your teeth into and lots of demo games going on if you are up for trying something new. You can also bag a bargain by cruising the trade stalls as some of them have offers on.
Although it is still some way off letting you all know about it now gives you plenty of time to schedule time to make it. So, come along and support the hobby. I am hoping some of the 6 Inch Move team will be around soaking up the atmosphere and checking things out.
